Our Broken Verdigris finish varies in its levels of protection. Portions where verdigris is present is fully sealed. This layered finishing technique creates a barrier between the materials surface and any moisture, grease, or any other substances, meaning that the finish will not change or age. However, the portions where brass is exposed is sealed only with wax.

Whilst the base material is protected by the Verdigris, a waxed coating is applied on top to seal the layers of finish and exposed brass, and enrichen its appearance. The waxed finish offers a limited barrier against further tarnishing of exposed brass. Excessive contact from hands, splashes from liquids, cleaning fluid etc, will cause enhanced local tarnishing.
